Contents Page Photoshoot

For my contents page photoshoot I have taken several photographs to allow me to see which will best suit my contents page. I feel the photographs that work well are the photographs that were taken outside. I feel they have a professional look to them and I feel that will give my contents page the professional look I need it to have.

This is the mock up of my contents page. This is my second attempt at making a mock up for a contents page. I wasn't very happy with my first mock up of my contents page. I looked on the internet for inspiration, I looked at different layouts and structures  of music contents pages. My mock up of my contents page is inspired by the NME contents page. I liked the structure of the contents page and wanted to use that for my contents page. I feel by using this mock up it will make my contents page look professional and well structured.

The photographs I have taken above are for my front cover. I took serval photographs to give me the option to which one would best suit the front cover.  To help me take photographs for my front cover I looked on google to see what style poses indie magazine do.  I feel my photoshoot was successful as I have produced serval indie look alike photographs.

Experimental Font Designs

My favourite fonts are 5th and 7th one down in the list. I feel they best define the 'Indie' look. The fonts I have chosen as my favourites have a messy look which best describes the 'Indie' Style. I didn't choose neat fonts because Indie is an expressive type that stands out from the crowd. I am going to experiment with my two favourite fonts and see which best suits the front cover.

Research and Planning: Music Magazine Front Cover Mock Up

This is my mock up I have designed for my front cover. I took inspiration from one of the layouts from an NME front cover. I designed my mock up to have the front cover filled with coverlines to make my magazine look packed with exciting features. I feel I have designed my mock up well as I feel it will reach to my target audiences needs. As I have taken my inspiration from an Indie Rock magazine I feel my design will meet to my target audiences standards.

Research and Planning: Initial idea for Music Magazine

The magazine I intend to produce is an indie/rock subgenre music magazine. My intended target audience is for 17-24 year olds and both genders. The magazines that I have researched that have influence my initial idea were NME and Q. The artists I intend to include in my magazine is Coldplay, Noah and the Whale and Lana Del Rey.
